6 Bible Based Prayers For Awareness

Last Updated on October 19, 2023 by Emma

Awareness is a hot topic right now. We should be self-aware. We should be aware of false teachers. We should be spiritually aware. Keep your eyes open and be aware of God moving. We should be socially aware. Be aware of your financial situation. Be aware, be on guard, and understand.

But how can we be aware in a way that honors God?

Praying is a great place to begin.

God wants us to be aware of His truth. So while prayer is a great place to begin we must also get into His word to learn what God wants us to be aware of. God’s word makes us aware of the things He has already done and the things He is yet to do.

These six prayers will help you begin your time with God and will guide you to areas in the Bible, God’s breathed-out word. God has the power to make you aware of all you need to know, so lean into your time with Him.

We invite you to share your prayer requests in the comments section below. Keep your hope in God and your eyes on Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit!

Short Prayer For Being Aware

Father, Thank you for your word. Thank you for the promise that you will always attend to your word with strength and with power. As I seek awareness of your truth today help me to come to you with a humble heart.

God, prepare my heart to receive what you have for me. Thank you for the promise that you are still working. You have accomplished great things and you are still accomplishing more. I pray that you accomplish giving me the awareness of the things you have for me today.

God, will you heighten our awareness of the things you have already done and the work you will accomplish in the future? Help our hearts be receptive and tender. Open my eyes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer For God To Our Open Eyes

God, will you please open the eyes of those I care for and allow them to be aware of who you are? You have blessed me in Christ with the spiritual blessing of being made clean before you. You have adopted me to be one of your own.

I praise you for your mighty hand over my life, you opened my eyes and made me aware of the grace I did not deserve but you lavished on me.

I now stand secure in my redeemed life because of Christ’s blood. You have forgiven me of my sins and now I experience the freedom that only comes from Jesus.

God, I only became aware of this because you opened my eyes. You allowed me to understand the mysteries of your will, and showed me the purpose I have in you. It was because of your wisdom and insight that my eyes are now open.

God, there are so many people in my life that are unaware of who you are, what you have done, and your plan to unite all things back to Christ. Do not leave them in darkness.

God, I pray you continue to open my eyes to more of who you are. Let me not be afraid of your word or uncultivated by it. However, help me to have open eyes as I behold all that you have to share with me in the Bible.

“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law” (Ps. 119:18).

God, The Psalmist prayed these words and I echo them now for my own life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This prayer was inspired by the words of the Apostle Paul found in Ephesians 1:3-10.

Prayer For Humility Within Awareness

God, I pray for humility when seeking awareness. I pray you give me your wisdom. As you open my eyes to your truths it will oppose this word’s idea of being aware.

Help me to resist being proud but rather help me to stand in your grace and know that I too was once lost.

God, I also ask you to help me to be careful when talking to other Christians about theological topics. Let me not be anxious or hot-tempered when others disagree with me. Instead, help me to give grace as I so richly received it from you.

The wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, and the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:17)

God, I pray that when others will aim to point fault in your word that I remember that the sum of your words is truth. Psalm 119:160.

Help me to remember that I am to love and pray for those that seek to harm me. Give me humility even when I’m dealing with my haters.

Father, you have put all the words together in a beautiful story. Help me to be humble enough to recognize that there are many times I need to acknowledge that your word includes mystery, paradox, and things I won’t always fully understand.

Help me to be humble as I seek awareness in your word and continue to seek peace with others. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer For Finding The Purpose In My Awareness

Father, I pray that you give me an understanding for the purpose of my awareness. It is not to glorify myself but rather to shine the light back on you. You are the giver of knowledge and awareness.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV)

God, I know that my purpose as your child is to grow to be more Christ-like. I can do this as I become more aware of your truth. I pray as I get into your word today that you use what I read to teach me, guide me, and train me for the purposes you have laid out for me. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer To Seek Help From Others To Be Aware

God, I know that you have called me to learn from others and I know that they can help me be aware. Help me to find people in my life that will help me be aware of your truths and not the lies of this world.

Father, you have given us family to be able to train us and help me be aware of your truths. Help me to listen to them as they guide me towards you. God, I pray that if my family is not walking with you that I peacefully reject their words and cling closely to you.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 ESV)

God, you have given me leaders within the church to teach me your ways. God help me not to neglect to go to church so that they can warn me, teach me, and make me aware of your truths.

And you shall warn them about the statutes and the laws, and make them know the way in which they must walk and what they must do. (Exodus 18:20 ESV)

I am thankful that you have also given us friends that have gone before us that can help us be aware of the truths we need to know.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, (Titus 2:3 ESV)

God, help me to seek help from others as you open my eyes and help me be aware. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Praise For God Giving Awareness

God, I have such joy in my heart and praise you, my King. God, your thoughts are precious. The truths you have graciously allowed me to see are amazing. The truth of awareness is uncountable. And I praise you for each one of them.

God, I thank you for the Holy Spirit that will help me on this journey of becoming more like you through being more aware of all you are, all you have done, and all you are still going to do.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (John 14:26 ESV)

God, I am so overwhelmed with joy and praise for what you have already revealed about yourself and your deeds. Help me to continue to praise you as you continue to allow me to be more aware of your goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Thoughts

This world will offer many things that will enlighten you, give you direction, or make you think that your own self-awareness is the most important thing you can discover.

But God, rich in mercy and abounding in steadfast love gives us more. He gives us a hope and future through Christ. As you seek awareness seek it in Christ alone. The greatest truth that can be found, the most aware you can be is all found in God’s word.

I pray that you get the opportunity to get into God’s word today, right now. Experience the awareness that only He can give.
