6 Simple Prayers For an Online Class

Last Updated on October 19, 2023 by Emma

Do you have an online class coming up soon?  Are you concerned about problems with accessing the online class?

Have you considered praying about it?

“Why would I bother God with something small like whether I can log on to my online class today?” you might ask.  And I would encourage you to consider why you would not.  God wants to hear from you about anything and everything in your life.  God delights in you,

The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3.17, NIV).

Also, if you are worried about an online class, which is distracting you, then it makes sense to bring that concern to God, as the Apostle Peter reminds us to do:

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5.6-7, NIV).

You may be taking an online class as part of your employment or to brush up on some job skills.  Perhaps you are participating in an online class for high school or college or graduate school.  Whatever your reason, online classes can bring up stressful situations.

The audio or video may be off-sync.  You have difficulty signing into the class.  Or, your WiFI or internet connection is slow or unreliable, so you’re never sure if you will get the whole class.  And, on top of all of these concerns, you really have to take part in the class because you need the credit for school or to meet the requirement of your employer.

With all of this, why not make use of these six prayers for an online class?  Each prayer is written for a certain aspect of online classes and it doesn’t matter if you’re using Zoom or some other type of platform.  You are welcome to modify any of the prayers so that they fit your specific circumstances.

As you pray these prayers, may you find yourself filled with God’s peace, knowing that he has heard your prayer and is with you, even now.  Be sure to share your personal prayer requests or comments in the section below this article.

A Brief Prayer for an Online Class

Dear God, I pray for every aspect on this online class I have to take.  I pray I can log on without any problems.  I ask that my internet connection be strong and stable.  I pray that the teacher is interesting and that I learn something.  I make this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Prayer Before an Online Class

Dear God, I am praying to you now because I have an online class to take later today.  I don’t really want to take it, as I have other things I need to be doing, but it’s required.  I don’t have a choice.

I ask that you help me with my attitude.  I don’t want to be grouchy while I’m doing the class, especially since part of it is interactive with other people in the class.  Help me to prepare well and make sure everything is working okay before I start signing in.

May I learn something useful.  Guide me into wisdom through the material, Lord.  I humbly pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Light and my Guide, Amen.

Prayer After an Online Class

God, thank you that you got me through that online class!  It was longer than expected and the material was kind of dry, but I finished the requirement.  It’s done and off my list of things to do!

I give you thanks for granting me the attention, focus, and energy to sit through the session and participate as needed.  I’m glad I prayed to you about this class because I’m not sure I would have made it through without a new perspective from your Spirit.

I pray that I can do better the next time this situation comes up.  I want to thank you that I did not have any issues or delays during the online class and it all worked out well.  Through Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

Prayer About Technical Issues With an Online Class

God, I have a very important online class later this morning and I have to be present for it.  Can you help me and make sure I don’t have any technical issues when I log in to my account?  Can you make sure that my computer works fine and does not freeze up before, during, or after the class?

This is the one class that I have to do well in for my major and lately I’ve had technical glitches every time I sign in.  This is the last class before the final so I need to be able to access the information and lesson today.  For me, right now, this is very, very important so I come to you in prayer.

Please ensure I can access this online class, Lord.  I pray for all of these requests in the belief that you hear me and are at work as my Heavenly Father.  In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Prayer About an Internet Connection For an Online Class

Lord God, is it too small a thing to pray to you about an internet connection?  We live outside of the metro area so our internet is spotty and not too reliable. I can’t travel to where the signal might be stronger.  I have an online class this evening that I must be present for the entire class.

I pray that you help our internet connection to maintain full signal strength for the duration of my class.  I pray that there be no interruptions, or buffering in any way.  I need to complete this class tonight.

I’m thankful that I can take the class online and don’t have to drive to the location, but I also am concerned because I have to rely on the internet signal to work properly.  So, I make this prayer to you through Jesus Christ, our Provider, Amen.

Prayer For Leading an Online Class

Dear God, I am leading an online class tomorrow for the first time in my job.  I am preparing all of the material and teaching points, but I pray to you specifically about the online aspect of it–the technology parts of it.

I need all of my equipment to function properly and on time.  I need the video and audio to be in sync with no lag time in between.  If the students taking my online class can’t hear or see what I’m saying clearly, then all of the teaching points won’t mean much.

I want my students to have a positive experience with this online class.  I want them to learn what they need to do their tasks well.  I pray that the class start on time, with no technical glitches, no internet slowdowns, and no buffering as the signal goes out to everyone.

Help keep me calm as I prepare, and even over prepare for this class.  I pray for all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Final Thoughts

When you signed up to take an online class, you were signifying your desire to learn.  That desire could have been mandated by your employer, of course, but you still signed up.  That desire could also have been influenced by a school requirement set by the administration, but you still signed up.

So, now that you are committed to taking the online class, why not embrace it as an opportunity to learn something new?  Even if it doesn’t interest you much, you can still learn a bit of knowledge that could prove helpful.  Learning and growing in wisdom is heartily recommended in the books of Wisdom in the Bible.

“Let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance—
for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1.5-7, NIV).

We can grow in our understanding of ourselves and of God as we pray.  When we pray about such specific situations as taking an online class, we can discover a deeper aspect of our relationship with God.  We can learn that God does care about the details of our lives.  We can grow in our trust of God as we seek out knowledge and wisdom.

The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,
for the ears of the wise seek it out” (Proverbs 18.15, NIV).

Praying about an online class is neither too small, nor too big for God to hear or to handle.  God cares about everything and everyone. We are not “bothering” God when we pray about such matters.  In truth, we are growing closer to God when we pray about such things like an online class.

When we pray, we talk with God, like a conversation with a dear friend.  Why would we want to leave out anything in our conversation?
