5 Prayers for New Customers and Sales

Last Updated on October 19, 2023 by Emma

Does your business need sales success?  Are you looking for new customers?  Want a prayer for increasing profit?

When you have a business of your own, whether you are the founder and owner, or the manager, you are always on the lookout for ways to increase your sales volume.  Depending on the type of company or business sector, you likely depend on more customers buying your product to have financial success.

But how do you pray about such things?  Can you pray for your business to close more contracts and increase profits?  Is it okay to pray for your business to attract new customers and clients?

Yes, you can, because there is nothing too minor, nor anything too major to bring to God in prayer.  If you believe that God already knows your need before you ask, then praying to God becomes more about deepening your relationship with him by being honest with him.  As the classic song says, we can carry everything to God in prayer.

To give you a quick example, you can see the story of Joseph, whom God prospered in his work.  It’s important to state that if your desire for sales success, or to attract more customers, is based on greed, then it is not likely God will respond positively to your prayer.  The Apostle James reminds us, You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.  When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures” (James 4.2-3, NIV).

So, when you begin to pray to God about establishing new sales goals, or laying out a strategy for bringing more customers into your place of business, be sure to consider the reason you are doing it.  Obviously, you want to make enough money to stay in business and take care of your family.  That is your desire and God honors that:

Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37.4, NIV).

These five prayers for new customers and sales are written in a general manner, in order to allow you to customize each one for your need.  You can modify the prayer to suit your situation.  The purpose of these prayers is for you to bring your plans and needs before God.  Let this ancient wisdom be yours in the current moment:

Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16.3, NIV).

Pray each prayer as often as you need to.  Please feel free to share your prayer requests with us in the comments section as well.

Prayer for Attracting New Customers

Dear God, I pray to you, asking for our store to attract new customers.  I give you thanks for the loyal and faithful customers we already have, as they have kept us afloat.  But I can see from the financial statements that we need to get new customers coming in the door and buying.

I ask for guidance on how to do this, Lord, as marketing is not my strong suit.  Please lead me to someone who knows what they’re doing who could give me some helpful tips that will work.  I don’t have a budget for this, so I’m praying for a moment of serendipity to make this happen, God.

I know winning over new customers is possible because I’ve seen it in other stores.  I just don’t know how they did it, Lord, so I ask you to bring them in, or bring me the help to make it happen.  I ask for this humbly, as you are the reason for our success.  In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Prayer for Sales Success

Dear Lord, we are about to enter our busy season for making sales, and I pray for us to have great sales success.  We have a lot of people counting on this business to make their living and provide for their families, Lord, so I bring this need to you, as I can’t shoulder that responsibility on my own.

We’ve been able to have a positive impact in our community because of our past sales success, so I pray for that trend to continue.  We like it here, Lord, and we enjoy being a blessing to others.

Help our employees be both bold and friendly in their customer service over the next several weeks.  Grant us favor with our new clients, and loyalty with our current customers.  I give you thanks for all that you have done for us already, God, and just ask for your continued blessing upon this enterprise.

In the strong name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Prayer for More Customers Online

Father God, we have just finished the redesign of our website and it launches tomorrow morning.  I ask that you bless this website and its online ordering platform.  We want this new look to attract more customers online so they can buy the quality merchandise we sell, even if they don’t live near here.

We’ve had to invest in this new site, Lord, so we are hoping and praying it literally pays off with more customers clicking on the site and increasing their purchases there.  We can only do so much selling here in the store, so we need this “extended” location to work well for us.

Thank you for the digital expertise of our team, as they rose to the challenge.  I pray it launches smoothly and we have a big opening day of sales as a visible encouragement for us all.  Help us Lord as we can only do what we can do–the success is going to come by your hand only.  I pray for all these things in the name of our Provider, Lord Jesus, Amen.

Prayer for Higher Business Sales

Lord God, I pray for our business.  We’ve hit a plateau on our business sales numbers.  They’ve stayed about the same for the last three quarters in a row.  We pray for your wisdom to guide us in how to bump these numbers up.  We pray for clarity so we can see the steps we need to take in order to get higher business sales in the next quarter.

We can’t stay on this plateau for too much longer, Lord, or it becomes a rut that we won’t get out of easily.  We pray for you to bring us new business leads we can contact and talk with about our product.  Are there areas we are overlooking, or a relational network we’ve been ignoring?

We don’t want to take anything for granted, Lord, so we are praying to you as we don’t know what else to do.  What are we not seeing that would make the difference?  We bring these concerns to you in prayer, O God.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Increased Profits

Jesus, I don’t know how else to pray this other than to just say that I am asking you to increase the profits at our store.  Holding the line, staying the same, or making do won’t cut it any longer, Lord.  We have to have more money coming in, and soon, or we’re going to have to make some very hard business decisions.

I do not, at all, want to have to let any of our employees go, even if it’s temporarily.  They have all worked so hard and been so faithful this last year.  I want to be able to keep paying them their salary as we have been.  I’d rather not shorten our hours of operation either, as I don’t think that’s going to help make more money.  We only earn when we’re open.

God, I’m asking for a financial blessing and for your financial favor upon our business.  I’ve cut back every expense I can without sacrificing our quality and purpose.  I’m now asking for your divine intervention in a very real way.  I pray this prayer of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Final Thoughts

Getting, and keeping customers for your business is a daily challenge. But it’s a key part of a financial breakthrough for your business and making sure that your sales figures keeping going up and to the right on the sales chart can be a stressful task for even the most talented business owner or manager.

The difficulty of making something happen when so much of the equation is out of your control should only underscore how vital it is to bring your worries and concerns to God in prayer.  When we keep our focus on God and what God can do, we can experience more peace in the face of such challenges and obstacles.

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1.1-3, NIV).

Let your prayers be for your business to prosper so you can, in turn, be a blessing to your employees, your customers, and your community.  Please let us know your own prayer requests down below.
