Being a nanny is humble work. It’s right and good that you pray for the nanny in your life.
There will be many days when they feel lost, exhausted, and frustrated. Their job will not earn them a promotion or prestige but they are valuable to your family. They will deeply impact your children and need to feel loved and appreciated. Praying for them is a great place to start.
Taking care of someone else’s children and loving them as your own is commendable.
We need to pray for our children’s babysitters and nannies as they care for our children. They do this selflessly knowing that this is usually just a short season. When you think of your babysitter or nanny, I hope you are filled with gratitude. I pray that this gratitude turns into admiration and praise to God.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8 ESV)

When I hired a nanny to watch our toddler, I recognized that praying for their safety was important. And we will help you begin to pray for safety. Now looking back, I recognize that I could have been praying for other things as our nanny watched our toddler.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray right now for my nanny. She is taking care of my kids on a regular basis and I know this isn’t easy. I pray that you give her the strength and patience she needs.
Lord, I pray that You protect my nanny and my kids when they are in her care. I pray you protect them from the schemes of the evil one, from the accidents of this world, and from anything that will harm them.
Father, I pray that my nanny will know you as her Lord and Savior and grow in her faith every day, especially as she has so much influence over my children right now. I pray this in your name, Amen.
Short Prayer For The Babysitter
Lord, I pray for my babysitter right now. It is not easy for me to leave my kids for the evening but I know that it is good to get away and rest. I pray that you give my babysitter strength and energy as she stays up to watch and protect my children.
God, I pray that the babysitter will have patience and wisdom in how to handle each situation.
Lord, I thank you that you are ultimately in control of everything and I can bring all my concerns to you. I pray that my babysitter also comes to you in prayer tonight as she feels the need for you to be with her. I pray this all in your name, Amen.
Prayer For The Safety Of The Nanny And My Children
God, I pray for the safety of my nanny and my children while they are with her. I pray that you keep them safe from the schemes of the evil one. I pray that he will not have any power over my nanny or the situations she may be in.
God, I pray for safety against any accidents. As my nanny drives my children around or even when she takes them to the park there are opportunities for accidents to happen. I pray that you protect them during these situations.
God, I pray that you protect them from anything that can harm my nanny or my kids. I pray that you keep them safe.
Father, I know that ultimately you are in control and that ultimate safety can only be found in you. Thank you for the promise of eternity with you. God, you have already saved me from the biggest threat in my life, my sin. Thank you that I can come to you and pray for safety but for ultimately saving me from the scariest thing, death.
I love you Lord, as far as it is in your will I pray for safety for my nanny and my kids.
Prayer For Christ’s Will To Be Done
God, I pray that Your Will be done as my nanny watches my kids. I understand that many things will happen throughout their day that I will not be around for but I know you are. I pray that you give me peace that you are in control.
God, I praise you for the amazing things that happen during the day with my nanny. I thank you that she cares for them so well and teaches them daily life skills. God, there are also things I wish wouldn’t happen, accidents, bruised knees, and hurt feelings. I pray that in the good times and bad that Your Will be done.
Father, I pray that you would be honored in all these situations. I pray that my kids would see your love and grace even as my nanny cares for them. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer For Nanny To Be Saved
God, I pray for my nanny. I pray that she would know you and be saved from her sin. God, I thank you so much for sending your son so that all who may believe in Him would have everlasting life. You have redeemed me and I want others to have this same freedom.
God, open my nanny’s eyes so she would see your truth.
Father, I pray that she would stop living her life for her own satisfaction, always trying to advance herself and help her to see her need for a savior. God I ask for your kindness and grace as you bring her to her knees.
God, I pray that you give her the boldness to repent of her sin. I pray that she would be bold to turn fully to you and that her life would reflect you as she grows. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer For Nanny To Grow In Christ
God, I am so thankful that you redeem and save those who love you. I thank you that my nanny is one of your children. Right now I ask that you help her to grow to be more like you. She continues to seem to be stuck in her own ways, clinging to old things that once satisfied her.
I pray that she would fully turn to you in these areas and that you would help her to be more like you. Father, you alone had the power to save her and now I ask that you use that same power to help sanctifies her.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
God, I ask that she would be reminded daily of the Gospel. That she would remember every day what Christ has done for her so that she would desire to have a deeper relationship with you. I pray this all in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer That The Babysitter Will Have Patience
God, I pray for patience for (name). As she gets used to my kids, new schedules, and unfamiliar expectations I pray that you help her ground herself in you. Help her to commit her ways to yours.
Lord, when she is struggling with patience because she does not know the answer or is pulled in too many directions I pray that you guide her feet. Help her lean on you for wisdom and strength.
God, I ask that you help her refrain from anger or frustration towards my kids when she is low on patience. Help her to wait on you and give her an overwhelming amount of patience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer For My Kids While Being Watched By The Nanny
God, I pray for my kids as they are being watched by (name). I pray that you take any anxiety away from me because I know you are in control and sovereign over their day. I trust in you, Lord.
God, I pray that you also take any anxious thoughts away from my children as they are away from me. Help them to know that they are loved so much not only by their parents but also by you, God.
Father, when they are distracted and feel alone I pray you wrap your arms around my children. Help them to know that they are loved.
I pray this all in Jesus’ name, Amen.
