As Christians, it can feel awkward to pray for abundance and prosperity. It sometimes feels selfish to ask for things like this. However, God wants you to succeed and be prosperous in all aspects of your life. As long as you are asking the Lord with pure intentions you can, and should, always pray for abundance and prosperity!
When we think of prosperity and abundance we must always realize that all of this comes from God. We must humble ourselves and remember that “every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17, NIV).
It’s also important to remember that financial success doesn’t equal eternal joy and happiness. An abundant life isn’t defined by wealth or career accomplishments. An abundant life is something that starts first and foremost with Jesus.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10, NASB). A life of abundance is a life joyfully and purposefully lived for Christ. It is the only thing that will bring you a deep sense of abiding peace.
True abundant life doesn’t mean having an abundance of material wealth. It means having an abundance of love, joy, peace, and the rest of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23, NIV)!
When we live a life of abundance we are free to live and give like no one else. We have the joy of the Lord deep in our souls. We are so full that nothing can diminish the sense of purpose, peace, and joy we have.

Good and gracious God, you have always been with me. You have given me everything and yet, I still ask for abundance and prosperity. Please give me a disposition of abundance. Help my spiritual life overflow so that I can help your Kingdom prosper. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayers For Abundant Wealth
Lord, please give my family and I an abundance of wealth. I feel selfish asking for this, but we are struggling. It’s so stressful to have to live paycheck to paycheck and I just wish that I didn’t have to live this way.
My house and car are falling apart. I feel awful complaining because at least I have a house and a car, but I wish my home and car were something I could be proud of. I wish I could have extra clothes or a few extra holy possessions, but the funds just aren’t there.
I’d love to decorate with my home with décor that glorifies you, but I just don’t have an abundance of wealth right now. If there is a way for me to improve my wealth then please point me in the right direction.
As I look for opportunities to grow my wealth, please keep me grounded and remind me that as long as I have hope in You my life is more abundant and prosperous than I could possibly imagine. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer To Manage Wealth Well
Lord, I come to you with a humble heart and seek your wisdom for managing my wealth. The Scriptures say, “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine (Proverbs 3: 9-10, NIV).
This verse reminds me that I need to speak with you often about how I am managing my wealth. I don’t want my wealth to only be used for selfish reasons. You have given me this wealth so I owe it to you to use it the way You desire me to.
Please help me in this endeavor. May I always be intentional about my purchases and seek your wisdom when it comes to large purchases and investments. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For An Abundance Of Money
Lord, I’m begging you for an abundance of money. It would help me and my family so very much if you were to bestow us with the precious gift of some extra money. It’s so hard to constantly be struggling and not have enough to make ends meet.
Help me to not be sucked into the things of this world. I really don’t need extra things Lord, but the money just isn’t there for our basic needs. Lord, please help me to find a job or a resource that will help me to get the extra money that we need for it. I really need your help.
I’m so anxious about all my money problems Lord and so I just offer it all up to you. I am trying to surrender my problems to You. I’m putting it into your hands. You take care of the birds and the bees so I know that you will take care of me.
I want the money that I have to glorify you so if there are ways that I can use the money that I do have in a better way. Lord, please just give me that wisdom and the strength to cut out the things that I don’t need.
Help me to relinquish all of my wants and truly give it to You. I trust in you and your plan for me and I just ask that you give me peace as I try to find this extra money. In your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For Financial Breakthrough
Lord, I need a financial breakthrough. I come to you humbly and ask that you would please change my financial situation. Lord, I know everything comes from You. You put this world into existence, and if it is Your will, you can give me the breakthrough I need.
I need a financial breakthrough because (reason for needing a change). I’m struggling with the way things are going in my life right now. I need a financial change to sort out some of my deep issues. I know if you provide me with this change I will be generous with the money you provide for me.
Until this financial breakthrough comes please help me to cut down on unnecessary expenses. Help me to want nothing but You. Please give me patience and peace as I await Your perfect timing for my financial breakthrough. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For Abundant Generosity
The book of Proverbs says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25, NIV). Please help me to be a generous person with my time, talent, and treasure. Help me to detach myself from worldly things so that I give all that I can give more freely.
It’s easy for me to be selfish with my wealth. I fall into the evil mindset that I’ve worked hard so it’s MY money. However, that is so wrong. It’s Your money, Lord. Help me to remember this so that I can give all that is asked of me and more.
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you (Luke 6:38, NIV).

Prayers For Spiritual Abundance
Lord, with all my heart I ask for the gift of spiritual abundance Lord. You freely give to us always, but I feel spiritually dry. I’m in a desolate place. I can’t seem to hear or feel your voice. I know you’re there. I know I can’t give up. I know you’re still pursuing me, walking with me, and carrying me, but I don’t understand why I’m in such a spiritually desolate place.
I want to be a person with spiritual abundance. I want to be so full of zeal for You that nothing can diminish my disposition. I know I must stay true to these words from Scripture, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33, NIV).
Please give me the motivation to get through this dry spell. Help me to persevere and to be a person whose cup overflows. I need to stay dedicated to my prayer routine and Scripture study.
When my life starts with You the riches will flow out into all aspects of my life. Even though I don’t always show it, I know that everything starts with You. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For Healing And Abundance
Good and gracious God, I come to you and seek healing and abundance. Lord, I’m a broken human. I come to you in pieces, I need healing from you. You are the only one who can make me whole. You’re the only one who can help me to put the pieces back together and to be the (man/woman) I was created to be.
Penetrate my heart. Wipe away the hurt and the pain and replace it with a heart full of love, sacrifice, and abundance. Lord, I have trauma from my past and I want to move forward. I want to be the (man/woman) that you want me to be. In order to do this I need to recover. I need your help to do that.
I want to live life abundantly. I want to live life for You. I want to be joyful and singing and dancing to your praises, but I’m not there yet. I need your help to get there. I think I need other people to help get me there too. Please place someone in my life that can help me to overcome the hurt and the pain in my soul so I can embrace my call to live life abundantly in You.
Help me to remember what it feels like to live life abundantly. I long for the day I feel whole again. I know this won’t fully happen until I am reunited with you in heaven. Until that day comes, keep me together so I can live the life You’ve called me to. In Your Name, I pray.
Prayer For A Prosperous Church
Lord, I pray for a prosperous and abundant church community. I pray that we are people of light and deeply dedicated to our faith. I pray that when other people see us that they see you. Help us to live our lives abundantly through You.
God, we want to be a church community that brings others to you. We want to be a place of openness, peace, and love. Please mold our community to look more like you. Help us to deny our sinful and selfish desires so that we can grow as disciples.
Help us to overcome our fears, so that we can build up more disciples. Help us to have the courage to go out, and truly make fishers of men. May we take Your great commission seriously and go make disciples of all nations. This is a really hard task to do, but I know in my inner core that it’s our job as disciples.
I want all of our new disciples to help our programs thrive at our church. However, I don’t want there to be more people for no reason. I want there to be more people who are on fire for You, who truly know what it means to have a relationship with You to set our church community ablaze.
Lord, help our pastor to be focused on You as He leads this community that is on fire for You. May he have these words from Scripture close to his heart, “My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ” (Colossians 2:2, NIV)
Our pastor works so hard for the good of Your kingdom. Help his zeal for the Lord to overflow out into the congregation. May he always listen to You and point us closer to your sacred heart. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For A Prosperous Career
Lord, I pray for a prosperous career. I love my job. I’m really good at it too. I know that I am in a place that you’ve called me to be. Please help me to continue to prosper in this job. Please provide opportunities for me to grow. I know that I have the skills and the talent to really thrive here. I know that I can further your kingdom through this job.
I take pride in my work. I would love to see all my hard work paid off with a lifelong successful career. Of course, a successful career means nothing without You though. Help me to be an instrument of bringing people to Your kingdom. Please help me to bring other employees closer to you.
Part of being good at my job is evangelizing and that doesn’t always mean talking about you. I pray that through my work I’m glorifying you always. Help me to always show kindness, compassion, and joy. I hope that I’m showing my coworkers how to live life abundantly in You.
Lord if you would provide me the opportunity to grow in this career I would be so grateful. I want to move into higher positions that will stretch me. I trust in your timing and know that you will present the right opportunity when it’s time. Thank you for your steadfast love and goodness. Help me to continue to rely on you, to listen to your voice, and to be attentive to your voice each day while I’m at the workplace. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayers For An Abundant Life
Good and gracious God, You sent Your Son so that we might have life and live it abundantly. To live this life abundantly is to be abundant, not in stuff, but in the fruits of the spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23, NIV).
Father, I know I lack in many of these areas. Please help me to grow in the fruits of the spirit so that I may have an abundant life. I don’t want to rely on material things in this world. I want to rely completely on You.
I want to be a reflection of You. When others see me I want them to see You. Mold my heart to look more like yours. Take away any hardness, anger, or distrust and replace it with your abundant gifts. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For An Abundance Of Mercy
Lord, help me to be abundant in mercy. Even though I don’t deserve it you’re always there showing me mercy and lifting me up. Although I don’t deserve your mercy, you still freely give it to me.
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:4-7, NIV).
Over and over again in the Scriptures, we see how Jesus showed compassion to those who committed such devastating sins. My sins are no different than theirs. Please remind me of that I’m not better than anyone else, so I must be abundant in mercy just as you are.
My heart is hard. I am angry and it’s not easy to be merciful. I hold grudges. I don’t want to be that way. I want to live life abundantly through you. When I am able to freely embrace your abundant joy and goodness I know mercy will flow abundantly as well.
Please take my heart and replace it with yours. Give me the desire to be merciful. Give me joy, compassion, and love instead of resentment and turmoil. I know it will take time, but I’m willing to work so I can be more abundant in mercy. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayers For Abundant Crops
Dear God, my livelihood relies on my crops so I fervently pray that you will give us an abundance of crops. Please help our crops to be as beautiful and lush as the ones you provided for the Israelites during their time of abundance in Egypt.
You provided an abundance for them so I know you will provide for me, even if it’s not exactly as I want it to be. Please just give me peace and surrender that whatever happens that you will provide for my needs.
Help me to remember these words from Scripture, “The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you” (Deuteronomy 28:11, NIV).
In the midst of all of this help me to be steadfast in faith so that I can live abundantly. Help me to live a life of zeal for you even if the crops are not abundant. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Concluding Thoughts
Whether you are on seeking abundance in wealth, generosity, a career, or overall abundant life, you must seek God to accomplish any of these goals. Everything comes from God so we cannot have an abundance of anything without acknowledging that it was the Lord who blessed us with it.
Talk with God about what areas of your life you would like to be more abundant and prosperous. He cares about every aspect of your life and desires to hear about it, even your finances!
