7 Tender Prayers For Bladder Cancer

Last Updated on October 19, 2023 by Emma

Getting diagnosed with bladder cancer can be overwhelming and terrifying. The good news is that it is very curable if caught early.  Always bring up any of your concerns regarding you or your loved one’s cancer. It’s important to pray for everyone with bladder cancer!

If you are struggling with the news of a bladder cancer diagnosis I hope you can comfort in these words, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10b, NIV).

As Christians, we can also be comforted that the Lord will be walking with you and/or your loved one every step of the way. Treatment can be difficult on the body and mind. However, the Lord carries us when we are weak.

Remember these words from Scripture, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26, NIV).

Even when you or your loved one is struggling physically, emotionally, or spiritually with a bladder cancer diagnosis/treatment the Lord is there to sustain you through it all. As long as you have Him, you will live a life of abundance despite your circumstances.

I have given you 7 prayers for colon cancer, but feel free to customize them to your specific situation. Please leave prayer requests in the comments so we can pray with you!

Short Prayer For Bladder Cancer

My God, I have bladder cancer. There’s a lot of unknown that comes with this diagnosis. I am worried about the sacrifices I will have to make and the things I may have to miss out on because of my treatment or if I’ll even survive this.

I ask that if it is Your will that you heal me completely and I use this time as an opportunity to grow as a disciple and glorify You, In Your Name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer For Bladder Cancer Surgery

Lord, (name) is having surgery on (his/her) bladder to help battle this bladder cancer. I am so nervous that there will be complications.

All surgeries are somewhat dangerous so there are plenty of ways this could go awry. Help me to surrender my fears and worries to you. I lay them at the foot of the cross. I feel like I can’t handle the stress of this so I know I must cast my burdens onto you because I cannot handle this alone.

God, please give the doctors wisdom as they perform this surgery.  I know they have done this before and will do the best they can to make this surgery a success. Please bless their hands so they can work quickly and accurately.

Please help this to be just a routine surgery and to go smoothly. Help me to be calm and courageous. May I cling to the words from the Scriptures, “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord” (Psalm 31:24, NIV).

If something goes wrong during the surgery, please give the doctors wisdom to know how to handle it. Lord, I trust in you. Amen.

Prayer For Bladder Cancer Treatment

Lord, please be my rock during these bladder cancer treatments. These will be very difficult and I know I can’t do this alone. Chemotherapy is a daunting experience. It’s essentially poison going into my body. I’m nervous about losing my hair. I know that is a superficial thing to be worried about, but I need to be honest with you Lord.

Please give me the strength and courage I need to get through the treatments. I know the best thing to get me through this is to just rest in You. You breathe life into me and refresh my soul. The sufferings of this treatment are only a small sliver of the pain your Son went through so that I could live my life freely. Help me to unite my sufferings to the cross. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer For A Parent With Bladder Cancer

Lord, my (dad/mom) mom has bladder cancer. I’m very nervous and overwhelmed, but I trust in You and Your will, which I know may not be what I want.

Wrap your loving arms around my (dad/mom) as (he/she) comes to terms with (his/her) diagnosis and treatment. Help (him/her) to feel safe and loved by You during this awful time.

The treatments can be difficult and painful so please give (him/her) the strength to endure this difficult cross. Instill in (dad/mom)’s heart that (he/she) “can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Phillipians 4:13, NIV).

I know (dad/mom) is trying to be strong and not show emotions around me. Let (him/her) know that it’s okay to show emotion and ask for help. (He/She) doesn’t have to go this alone. Our family is here to support (him/her) and more importantly, You are here.

Please guide the doctors as they come up with a treatment plan. May they have wisdom and know what is best for (his/her) body. Please heal (him/her) O God. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer For A Spouse With Bladder Cancer

Lord, my spouse has bladder cancer. I come to you humbly and broken. I never thought this would happen to (name). It’s not something I thought I would have to watch my (husband/wife) live through.

Please heal (him/her) of this cancer. Help me to confidently put my trust in you. Wrap your loving arms around (name) as (he/she) comes to terms with (his/her) diagnosis and treatment. Help (name) to feel safe and loved by You during this difficult time.

Help me to be what (name) needs during this time. Help me to be supportive and have the right words to say to encourage (him/her) to fight. May I be strong when (name) is weak. Thank you for this opportunity to live out my vows of in sickness and in health. I strive to love like You, sacrificially.

The treatments can be difficult and painful so please give (name) the strength to endure this difficult cross. Help (him/her) to look to Your Son as an example of bearing suffering.

Please guide the doctors as they come up with a treatment plan. May they have wisdom and know what is best for (his/her) body. I surrender my feelings of anxiety and fear and ask that you replace them with hope and joy. It’s all in your hands. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer For Medical Professionals Treating Bladder Cancer

Lord, I lift up all medical professionals who are working with bladder cancer. This cannot be an easy job and so I thank you for those who have chosen this path. I pray for the medical professionals who are performing surgeries today, may you guide their hands.

For the medical professionals who are delivering bad news today, may their words be soft, comforting, and loving. It’s very challenging to have a doctor who has poor bedside manners so please help these doctors so that their patients can feel seen, heard, and cared for by their doctors and nurses.

Lord, give the doctors the wisdom and knowledge to come up with treatment plans for their patients. Give them confidence as they work towards saving more lives. Protect their hearts and minds so that they may not listen to the evil one. They see and hear difficult things each day.

Help them to know what they are doing is glorifying You and building up the kingdom. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer For Bladder Cancer Survivors

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Thank you for curing this bladder cancer! I know You are a miracle worker so I knew if it was Your will that You would heal me.

I can’t help but have a little bit of anxiety that cancer might come back.  They said that if this cancer comes back it will be worse and fiercer than ever. Please put these worries at bay and continue to be cancer free for the rest of my days!

You helped me to not have to suffer through this alone. I know you were walking with me every step of the way.

Thank you for all the ways You showed up for me during this journey. Help me to use this life that you have allowed me to keep living for the purpose of building up your kingdom. May my story and experience be helpful to others who are going through colon cancer and a witness to others of your healing power. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.

Concluding Thoughts

When you or someone you love has bladder cancer it can be a roller coaster of emotions.  When you first learn the results of your biopsy or other diagnostics you might be afraid or overwhelmed. The enemy wants us to wallow in those emotions, but God invites us to trust He will carry us through the storm.

Remember, we don’t need to grieve because of our hardships. We will have a deep and abiding peace if we trust in the plan the Lord has for us. His Son carried His cross up to Calvary. He is there every day helping you carry yours.
