You are a devoted follower of Jesus, so you know that God is the source of all good things. He is the one who provides for your needs and meets your desires. When you are struggling financially, it is natural to pray to Him for help.
Praying for financial aid or support can be a difficult thing to do. You may feel ashamed or embarrassed to admit that you need help. But it is important to remember that God loves you and wants to help you. He knows your needs, and He is always willing to provide for you.
When you do pray to God, be specific about what financial needs you have. Do you need to pay your rent? Do you need to buy food for your family? Do you need help with a medical bill? The more specific you are, the better.
Also, you might think that you need to come to God with formal sounding words when you pray, but throughout scripture, people pleading with God have been transparent. Be honest with God about your financial situation. Tell Him about your debts and your expenses. He knows the truth anyway, so there is no point in trying to hide anything from Him.
As well, if you’re turning to God in prayer about your financial situation, then you already know it’s too big for you. So, trust that God will provide for your needs. He is a faithful God, and He will never leave you or forsake you. God has said quite clearly in His Word, that He provides.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing” ( Psalm 23.1, NIV).
The Psalmist is reminding all of us that God is watching over every area of your life and mine, including our finances. If God is doing the providing then you will have what you need, for that is a promise found through the Bible.
If you are struggling financially, please don’t be afraid to pray to God for help. He loves you and wants to provide for you. Trust Him to meet your needs, and He will not disappoint you. Keep on praying!
Short Prayer For Financial Aid
Dear Lord God, I made it through last year without needing any financial help for my school, but this year, I’m going to need some serious financial aid. I’ve got the information from the school’s website, but it looks like a lot and I’m feeling overwhelmed. Please help me to do the steps one at a time so I can get the money I need to continue with my education. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayer For Financial Support For Family
Dear God, I come to You today in need of financial help. I am struggling to meet my basic needs, and I am worried about how I am going to provide for my family. I need financial support in some way, somehow, quickly!

I am praying for financial aid so that I can attend college and pursue my dreams. I know that You are the source of all good things, and I trust that You will provide for me. Lord, I just lost my job a few weeks ago and I still haven’t found another one. While I am in between employment, I am praying for financial help. I need help paying my rent and other expenses. I also need help feeding my family. We are stretched as far as we can go.

Dear God in heaven, I am so grateful for Your healing touch. I know that You are the Great Physician, and that You can heal any disease.

Concluding Thoughts
Let these seven pleading prayers for financial aid and support help you start saying the words you need to express to God in prayer. If you want to speak them word-for-word as they are written you can do that and God will hear you. If you need to alter the wording to better suit your circumstances, you can do that too, and God will hear you.
Sometimes it’s hard to know where to turn or what questions to ask when you are in need of financial support in some way. Most financial aid is related to education, but it can come in other forms as well. I would encourage you to also look into prayers for financial anxiety, or prayers for financial breakthroughs.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” ( Matthew 6.33, ESV).
