Prayer For Mom In Heaven On Her Wedding Anniversary
Today is going to be a bit of a challenge, God, as this will be the first wedding anniversary my dad will have since my mom died. We’re not going to make a big deal about it all, but we will gather together, both to remember her and to help him on this tender day.
We are glad that she had a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and is in heaven with you right now. That gives us all a measure of peace, even as we are feeling the pain of her tangible absence from our lives. I pray especially for my father, as he is without his lifelong partner.
Help us all to give one another special grace as we both celebrate what she meant to us on this special day, as well as grieve her passing. I hope and trust that mom is dancing around, singing praise to God right now, full of the presence of the Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Father God, thank you for bringing us through these past several years since our mother died. Each special holiday or birthday was a tender and difficult moment for us all. Even now, a few years after she has passed on and gone to heaven to be with you, Christmas is a challenging time.
This holiday, above all the others, was when we all gathered together as a family and we still have an empty chair to remind us that she is still honored in our lives as we celebrate the birth of Christ. I pray for her, that she is healed and whole and resting in the presence of God now.
