We are a sinful people. Luckily, we have a savior who has redeemed us. We fall short, but each day we are able to rise anew with Christ. Renewal doesn’t always need to be a huge event. We can pray each day for a renewal in our lives.
Some of the definitions for renewal in the Meriam-Webster dictionary include: “to make like new”, “to make new spiritually”, “to make extensive changes”, and “to begin again.”
We need a renewal each day. We need to be made like new and we can only do this through Christ.
The Bible says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2, NASB).
The Lord renews us so we can stand out in the world. The call to be a disciple is not an easy one. It can be easy to get burned out, especially during periods of spiritual dryness. Luckily the Lord is faithful and desires to renew you in every way you need. All you need to do is ask.

Short Prayer For Renewal
Lord, I am in desperate need of renewal. I am downtrodden and weary. I need you to restore me so I can be the person you’ve called me to be. I have changes I need to make, but I need your help. You are the only one who can bring me the restoration and renewal that my soul longs for. Help my heart to be open to how you want to work within me. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For A Renewed Mind
Lord, the Bible says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2, NASB).
Please help me in this endeavor to renew my mind. I have been viewing life through my broken worldview. I have gotten caught up in the drama and the opinions of others. Help me to interpret life through the lens of the Gospel. Please renew my mind.
Give me the strength to make the changes you desire me to so that my life will transform. I love you above all else, but I lose focus on that at times. I want to do Your will. Give me the grace and desire to keep my thoughts, words, and actions centered around You. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For Physical Renewal
I’m in need of a physical renewal. My bones and muscles are tired and achy. Everything hurts.
My body is so weak I don’t have the energy to do the things that I want and need to do. I’m tired of feeling this way. I need your healing. I need to be renewed.
Prayer For Spiritual Renewal
Lord, I am going through a period of spiritual dryness. I am lacking the zeal of the Holy Spirit. I cry out to You these words from Scripture, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10, NIV).
I am trying to cling to You, but I just feel defeated, and disappointed in myself. I’m not spending as much time with You as I used to. I need a spiritual revival. Give me the desire to pursue You more deeply. Please place someone in my path who can help me in this endeavor. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For Renewed Strength
Good and gracious God, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31, NIV).
I am exhausted. The kind of exhaustion that not even a good night’s sleep can fix. I just feel like I can’t keep going at this pace. I’m running myself into the ground. I need renewed strength and vigor to keep accomplishing all my daily tasks.
I feel like you’re calling me to make changes in my life. If I’m going to have the strength I need to be the person you’ve called me to be I need to pivot my lifestyle. Change is scary. Help me to practice detachment and get rid of the things in my life that are holding me back from being the person you’ve called me to be.
I don’t want to be a tired and cranky person. I want to be someone who exudes joy. I want to be someone who brings others closer to You. Please renew my strength so that I can be this person. Help me to be patient as I work on this.

I need to lean into You and spend more time resting in Your presence. I’m restless when I am far from You. I cannot be renewed in strength if I’m not spending time in prayer and the Word. Help me to stay dedicated and devoted. Please increase my desire for renewed strength.

Prayer For A Renewal Of Faith
Lord, please help (Name) who needs a renewal of faith. (He/she) has been away from the faith for years. (He/She) used to be so full of love for You and now it’s like you don’t even exist. I’m so worried for (him/her).
I know you are there walking with (Name) every step of the way. Please give (Name) the desire to turn back to (his/her) faith. We live in such a broken world and I just don’t understand how anyone can do it without You.
So many of (Name’s) issues will be helped if he can turn to You for consolation and wisdom. Please give me the courage to talk to (Name) about (his/her) faith. If I am not the person to bring (him/her) closer to You then please place someone in (his/her) life who can help (him/her) revive (his/her) faith.
Lord, we are nothing without You. We owe our entire lives to You. Please help (Name) to understand the importance of Jesus and giving (his/her) life to Him. The Scriptures say, “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5, NIV).
Help (Name) to know that even though (he/she) has fallen away from the faith it is never too late. The Lord is merciful and desires to renew us all each and every day. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Prayer For A Personal Renewal
Lord, please, enlighten my heart with a personal renewal. I have found myself caught up in the wrong things. I’m consuming the wrong content online and surrounding myself with the wrong people. None of these past times or people are leading me closer to You. I just really need to do a 180.
I can only turn my life around with your help. My heart is restless. I feel lost and alone. I feel like nothing I’m doing is right anymore. I don’t know how things got this way, but I know I want to change. Lord, please show me the path and help me to be personally revived.
You alone can restore my soul. I trust in Your goodness and trust that You will lead me where I am supposed to go. I need to realign my lifestyle with my values and your purpose for my life. Give me the courage and strength to push through this personal renewal. Help me to die to myself and my desires. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.
Concluding Thoughts
If you or someone you love is in need of a physical, spiritual, personal, or any other type of renewal the Lord is the person you should go to. We fall each and every day, yet he loves us enough to renew our hearts minds, souls, and bodies each day so we can try again to please Him.
Don’t be afraid to ask the Lord to renew you. He died so that we can rise anew each day in new life with Him just like Jesus rose on the third day. The Lord desires to cleanse, restore, and rejuvenate you so that you can be the person He desires you to be.
