6 Thankful Prayers To God For A Good Day

Last Updated on October 19, 2023 by Emma

Praise the Lord! God is so good to us and we don’t often see it. We can often be like the Israelites and ask God how has He been good to us.

“I have loved you,” says the Lord. But you say, “How have you loved us?” (Malachi 1:2 ESV)

But then there are days like today when you don’t even have the words to express the praise you know God deserves. It seems like everything is falling into place, prayers have been answered, and God has been better to you than you ever imagined.

I’ve had these days. Days when it seems like you have been faithfully waiting and now the day has come and you just want to praise God.

As I have grown in my walk with Christ I have also noticed the small things that God has done. He is sovereign and loves me and I see that in the small ways, He blesses me; the freshness of the morning air, a kiss from my grandmother, or a listening ear of a friend. These small things we should praise God for too.

And then there are those days when nothing goes well. And in those days God does not deserve our praise any less. It’s these days that we have to be reminded of the things God has done for us and what He has promised to do in the future. When we remember these things we can praise God even on the tough days.

That’s exactly what God did for the Israelites through Malachi. He reminded them that He loved them when He chose them and has been great to them.

We hope these prayers give words to your heart as you praise God. We would love to praise God with you. If you comment below what you are praising God for we would love to know.

Short Prayer To Thank God For A Good Day

Dear Heavenly Father, you are worthy of my praise today and every day. Thank you for such a good day today.

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. (Hebrews 13:15 ESV)

Let me never stop praising you with my words. I love you, Lord, you are greater than I even deserve. Amen.

Thankful Prayer For A Good Day At Work

God, I thank you for being in control of all things. I thank you for a great day at work. I know it was your hand that guided the conversations, gave me the strength to get my work done, and allowed everything to fall into place.

God, I praise you for your sovereignty throughout my day at work.

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Psalm 34:1 ESV)

God, help me to continually praise you. Not only for the good days but every day. I am thankful for the work you have given me. Amen.

Thankful Prayer For A Good Day At School

God, I thank you for a great day at school. You alone are good and have the power to give me good things. For that I praise you.

You know that I have not had good days at school. The world is pulling further and further from Your truths. The behavior of my classmates is selfish and with no regard to You.

But today God your goodness shined through. You opened the eyes and soften hearts. You alone have the power to change lives and I thank you that you are using me and allowing me to see you work.

Thank you for a good day at school. Amen.

Prayer Of Thanksgiving That God Forgave Me Today

Father, you have the power to forgive.

“Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”(Mark 2:7 ESV)

Today I messed up. You know the offense I have made against You. Father, you saw the hurt it caused others. But You are rich in mercy and you forgave me.

Father, I am so sad that I continue to sin. I am well aware of my selfishness and pride that causes me to keep on sinning. But you do not leave me there. You forgive me and help me to grow to be more like you.

I praise you today for never leaving me where I’m at, for forgiving me, and for helping me. Amen.

Prayer Of Thanksgiving That God Vindicated Me Today

God, like David I have cried out to you to vindicate me. I knew I had done nothing wrong in this situation but the enemy had plans to destroy me.

You have seen, O Lord; be not silent! O Lord, be not far from me! Awake and rouse yourself for my vindication, for my cause, my God and my Lord! Vindicate me, O Lord, my God, according to your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me! (Psalm 35:22-24 ESV)

I prayed boldly for you to set things right and today You have! I asked you not to allow the evil one to succeed in his plans, but instead to allow justice to prevail.

Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha, our heart’s desire!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.” Let them be put to shame and disappointed altogether who rejoice at my calamity! Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me! (Psalm 35:25-26 ESV)

And now just like David, I shout for joy. You are righteous. You have protected me and have made the outcome come out in my favor because I have been faithful to you.

Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore. “Great is the Lord, who delights in the welfare of his servant!” (Psalm 35:27 ESV)

Lord, help me never forget this day. The day you vindicated me. Help me never forget your greatness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Of Thanksgiving Even When I Don’t Feel Like It Today

Father, today has been hard but you still deserve my praise. Today I have struggled with the thoughts in my head, the words of others, and the actions of the day. It all seemed hard.

When I am struggling to find the joy in my life help me to look to you. Help me to focus on the things you have done for me and praise you for those things.

The thing that first comes to mind is that you have already saved me from my biggest problem in life, sin. God, you created a way for me to be in right relationship with you through the death of Jesus on the Cross.

This is such a wonderful gift I do not deserve. God, I praise you for your mercy to me in my life.

God, secondly I think of the promise you have given me. You have promised to take care of me, to never leave me, and to do what is good for me.

These promises don’t always seem to be real on my hard days but I know you are faithful God and you will make all your promises come to pass. Give me patience while I wait and help me to praise you in my waiting.

Finally, I think of the beautiful day when I will see you face to face. You have promised an eternity with you, not because of anything I have done but because of Christ’s atoning death on the cross.

Thank you that through faith by grace, I have been saved from my sin and have the promise of eternity with you. When I’m not having a great day I still praise you for the day I had.

Lord, I praise you for the hard days because of who you are but also because the hard days help me to grow.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:2-4 ESV)

God, I thank you for the things you have done for me and the things you will yet to do. Amen.
