My family has been blessed to live in three different states over the past ten years. During that time, we have had two different opportunities to watch a home be built from the ground up. My husband knew what we were getting into, but I had no idea.
Both homes we built ran into the same issues. The home builders were moving too fast and we had to fight tooth and nail to get walls straightened or the sub floor leveled. It was stressful and consumed our lives for months.
Looking back at it now, I wonder how different our experience would have been if we would have turned to God to build our home. How our relationships with the contractors could have been different. We should have come to the builders with concerns instead of confrontation. How God’s given words would have guided both us and the contractors to build us a stable home.
We were in such a rush both times to get into our homes. I hope you are blessed with the time to enjoy the process. We often spend years watching the place we have moved into become a home full of faith and memories. I pray you watch the place you and God are creating for those memories with the same hopeful encouragement.
