Debt can often make us feel like we are slaves to our financial obligations, but as Christians, we have hope and guidance from the Word of God.

When we are in debt, we become slaves to our lenders. This verse serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers of financial irresponsibility. Debt can restrict our choices, limit our ability to give to others, and hinder our pursuit of God’s plan for our lives. But God’s Word also provides us with wisdom on how to handle our finances in a way that honors Him.
First and foremost, we must acknowledge that our ultimate provider is God. He is the source of all our blessings, including our financial resources. When we view money as a gift from God, we are less likely to misuse it and accumulate unnecessary debt.
